Mardi Gras on Main
Location: Downtown Honesdale
Time: Feb 18, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Unlike New Orleans, known as “The Big Easy”, there will be no big parade with huge floats tying up traffic on Main Street. Rather, over thirty groups of people (krewes), ranging from business owners to non-profit organizations, to school groups will be parading the sidewalks of historic Honesdale. Many krewes will be passing out colorful Mardi Gras beads, some with valuable store coupons attached, to passersby’s, and many local businesses will be passing out the savings in-store as well.
