led by Mike Johnson and Jeff McLaine of Sawmill Cycles presented by The Cooperage Project suggested donation $10, registration not required, but appreciated 570.253.2020 “We’ll start with the basics,” said Johnson. “How to check your tires, lube your chain, adjust cables tension, and perform basicpre-ride inspections on your bike. We’ll also talk about basic technique like proper position on a bike and when to shift. Then we’ll move into more advanced topics, how to take your rear tire off, how change a flat tire, what to do if your chain breaks, that sort of thing.” And you’ll get to practice what you are taught: changing the tube of a tire, adjusting various aspects of a bike and riding a bike on a “trainer” a piece of equipment that makes it possible to ride a bicycle while it remains stationary. The duo will also provide route suggestions based on your level of experience and desired difficulty.“Honesdale and the surrounding region tends to build great bikers,” says Johnson. “There are many beautiful flat rides to enjoy and lots of hills to climb. There is a little something for everyone.”
