10th Annual CJR Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament

The CJR Team is excited to be gearing up for our 10th Annual Golf Invitational! Hard to believe another year has passed. I would like to thank all of our past sponsors and participants for their continued support and welcome those of you who would like to be part of our effort . Your generosity has been greatly appreciated over the years. Because of our supporters, Caleb will never be forgotten! The CJR Memorial Foundation proudly supports the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. There, families are able to stay free of charge while their child receives treatment at nearby hospitals including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In Caleb’s name we are able to sponsor a room in full, lessening the stress and financial burden for all who stay there each year. We also assist families experiencing financial hardship while caring for their critically ill child. We help these families make ends meet by covering expenses like mortgage payments and utility bills so the parents are not forced to chose between their jobs and being by their child’s side. Every August, Camp Timber Tops in Hawley, PA hosts the Ronald McDonald Camp for one week with over 200 campers! Ronald McDonald Camp is a place where kids with cancer, and their siblings, can enjoy just being kids. It is a week of fun, friendship, and freedom from being different. It’s a chance to experience new activities and acquire new skills in a supportive, nurturing environment. It’s a time when kids can talk openly about cancer and everybody else understands. Camp welcomes children ages 7 to 17 who are currently undergoing treatment or who have been treated for cancer. One sibling per camper also has the opportunity to attend. Almost 70% of the campers are children from Pennsylvania. This year, the CJR Memorial Foundation will be sponsoring a cabin! We are excited to be involved with the Ronald McDonald Camp and the significant impact it has on the many children who attend. For three years now we have been in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NEPA! Because of sponsors like you, three critically ill children and their families from Northeast PA went to Disney World for one week, all expenses paid! Flights, hotel, park tickets, special meet-and-greet experiences and more! A local high school student battling leukemia traveled to Hawaii with his family and this year we are going to make another local child’s wish come true. And it is all because of sponsors like you. This year we are connecting with kids who have started their own charitable organizations to benefit others impacted by cancer and other illnesses. These amazing kids have been inspired by experiences in their own lives and now are giving back in big ways. A “Most Inspirational Kid of 2019” will be selected to win a grant towards their charitable mission at the May 6th event. Thanks to the contributions and thoughtfulness of every sponsor, participant and volunteer we have become a huge success. We are able to stretch every dollar raised to help those in our immediate community and beyond. We hope you will join us in celebrating Caleb’s memory at this year’s event.
